Garmin specializes on satellite navigation products, and among anglers Garmin is especially known for their high-quality sonars, chart plotters, and combo devices. The company was established in 1989 by Gary Burrell and Min Kao, whose first names where combined to create the company's name Garmin. The company's production and design departments are located in Kansas, United States and Taiwan.
