Monofilament lines
Monofilament lines are in principle compatible with all spinning rods. They are significantly more stretchy than braided lines and are thus much more forgiving in terms of breaking. Monofilament lines stretch approximately 20–35%, which is ten times the stretch of braided lines. The stretch does give the fish more opportunities to break free, which means that counter strikes are a suitable technique for ensuring catching. Many anglers prefer to use monofilament lines when fishing in rapids due to their higher abrasion resistance compared to braided lines.
