Description
The mounting solution of the R3 motor is the sturdiest and most durable transom mount on the market! The aluminum alloy used in its construction and the stainless steel hinge pins make it the strongest mount for electric outboard motors. Thanks to its traditional "5 speeds forward 2 speeds back" speed settings and a turning motor head, this outboard motor is very reliable, versatile and easy to use.
The ergonomic and extendable steering handle and adjustable aluminum mount ensure that the motor can be effortlessly controlled in any situation.
• Thrust: 30 lbs / 13.61 kg
• Shaft length: 30" / 76 cm

The story of MotorGuide began in the United States in the 1960s when a clever angler called G.H. Harris had a brilliant idea. At that time, small electric motors were already available, but they were very clumsy to use. Harris' idea was to develop a better machine, and this became the predecessor of modern, advanced MotorGuide motors. Harris' new motor would keep a boat at trolling speed while being easy to steer. For years MotorGuide has set the standards in the industry with the power of their innovation, meticulous design, terrific performance and reliability. Today MotorGuide electric outboard motors are known all over the world for their uncompromising quality among both professional sports anglers and dedicated hobbyists.
The transom-mount of the R3 is made of a sturdy aluminum alloy and it has a durable powder coating. The hinge pins are made of stainless steel to guarantee sturdy and durable mounting. The motor also has an easy-to-use lifting and lowering mechanism and it is very quick and easy to install.
• 50 years of trailblazing! Digital electric outboard motors are a MotorGuide breakthrough and anglers have trusted MotorGuide trolling motors for over 50 years.
• First-grade materials! The lasting reputation of MotorGuide electric motors is based on the use of carefully selected alloys and composite materials in every motor part. You will not find cheap plastic bits in a MotorGuide!
• Completely protected digital unit! The MotorGuide digital unit is cased within a completely waterproof epoxy case that protects the system against heat, moisture, corrosion and shock (fresh and saltwater models).
• Cooler operation, more operation hours! MotorGuide's digital motors produce significantly less heat than analog models, which means that they can operate for much longer periods of time.
• The motors are equipped with micro switches that use significantly less power than traditional motor switches.
• More efficiency and longevity! The control unit is situated in the lower part of the trolling motor, which ensures maximum efficiency and current flow.
• Longer battery life increases fishing time. The legendary MotorGuide speed control increases battery life and so makes it possible to stay on the water for longer periods at a time.
• No more sonar disturbances! The simple structure and clear signal processing of digital trolling motors reduces the number of wires, transistors and switches that interfere with sonar signals when using analog motors.
• Smoother and more quiet operation. The speed control is soft and silent, taking you ever closer to the fish.
