Happy Angler online store offers a wide range of baitcasting reels. Baitcasting reel should be chosen according to your target fish and preferred fishing style. The lighter your lure, the more sensitive and lightweight the reel. Correspondingly, heavier pike lures require a more powerful reel.

Low-profile baitcasting reels are particularly well-suited for casting jigs, for example, and other fishing styles where lightweight lures are used. However, baitcasting reels designed for more robust use are also available.

Round baitcasting reels are sturdier and particularly popular for pike fishing. But your choice of reel type is primarily a question of taste.

Trolling reels employ fewer of the technical innovations designed for casting. Instead, trolling requires a strong and durable reel.

Do note that unlike spinning reels, trolling reels cannot be adjusted later in terms of handedness. The reels are designed for either left- or right-handed use. This refers to the side of the reel on which the reel handle is located.
