The weight of your jig head should be chosen on the basis of the depth and flow of the water.
The hook size should be based on the jig used and the targeted fish species. The size order from smallest to largest is: 8, 6, 4, 2, 1, 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, etc. When using a thin perch jig, it is also advisable to use a collarless jig head that does not damage the surface of the thin jig.
