Marttiini Annual Knife 2027 Tähti brings the quiet power of the Arctic night sky into a traditional Finnish puukko. This year’s Annual Knife draws inspiration from bright stars and the deep stillness of northern nights. The dark and determined design combines a carbon steel blade, a black birch handle, and a carefully crafted leather sheath, creating a knife that functions both as a practical outdoor tool and an impressive collector’s item.
Annual Knife 2027 Tähti is designed for versatile use in nature and outdoor environments. The large ergonomic handle provides a secure grip even when the task requires strength or precision. The shape is based on the classic Ilves handle model, known for its excellent ergonomics and comfort. The Black birch gives the handle a clean, natural appearance while providing a pleasant feel in the hand.
The foundation of Marttiini’s sharpness lies in the grinding angle shaped using a sharpening stone. At the Marttiini factory, the blade goes through several stages of craftsmanship before it is ready for the final decisive process. In this step, which requires great skill, the blade is sharpened to give the knife its well-known Marttiini sharpness.
The blade is made from high-quality carbon steel (1.2235 / 80CrV2), known for its excellent sharpness and durability. The hardness of HRC 59.5 provides strong cutting performance and long-lasting edge retention in outdoor use. Both sides of the blade feature laser-engraved constellations that form the visual centerpiece of the knife. In total, twelve constellations are included in the engraving, creating a personal connection between the user and the design.
The new black chrome-tanned leather sheath completes the design. The pattern on the sheath follows the blade’s star motif, creating a unified and carefully finished look. The new sheath model is also practical, as it can be worn on the belt from either side, making it suitable for both right- and left-handed users.

To keep the blade in good condition, it should be carefully dried after use and regularly treated with salt-free oil, such as cooking oil. With proper care, the carbon steel blade will remain rust-free and provide a very long service life.
Marttiini leather sheaths are made from vegetable-tanned or chrome-tanned cowhide. The leather is sourced from both Europe and South America. The sheaths are still largely handcrafted. Each sheath must have exactly the right size and shape to fit the knife perfectly. The leather is cut using templates, the seams are glued before stitching, and every detail is carefully inspected.
Marttiini products come with a three-year warranty against material and manufacturing defects.
