Downrigger Hardcore is the strongest braided line intended for use with deep downriggers. This 12-strand super dyneema braid offers the best tensile strength to thickness ratio on the market. The line is 0.8 mm thick with a tensile strength of 130 kg.By replacing your downrigger lines with braid you can increase the size of your catches significantly. By using braid you can say goodbye to resonating wires. Using braid also prevents the formation of an electro-chemical element between the motor and the steel wire - according to numerous studies these electric tensions scare fish away and switching to braid gets rid of the problem. Dyneema fiber is also very thin and cuts water better than steel wire, meaning that the downrigger ball will not drag as much. Use of a rubber snubber is recommended.Because of how slippery the material is, metallic release clips will slide on the braid. We recommend you use a so-called double release setup.
