Shimano SLX A Baitcasting Reel

Shimano’s redesigned SLX A baitcasting reel was designed particularly for leisurely casting with smaller lures. The reel features a lightweight MGL III spool, which has been optimized for accurate and long casting with small lures. The reel features a compact, sturdy, and durable Hagane body, which fits perfectly in your hand for guaranteed comfort even when fighting larger fish. SLX is also equipped with the Silent Tune technology, that reduces side to side movement in the spool for a better casting response. Shimano's SLX A is a versatile baitcasting reel that allows you to cast 5–30 gram lure with ease. This reel is perfect for zander, perch, and pike fishing using lightweight medium-sized lures. • The aluminum Hagane body ensures reliable operation even under significant load. For the proper functioning of the gearing and the entire reel, it is extremely important that the body cannot twist at any time. • Magnumlite (MGL) III spool begins to rotate easily, which allows you to cast even lighter lures with ease! MGL III diameter/width: 32/21 mm, which is 2 mm narrower than the previous 19SLX MGL model and offers even better reaction speeds, casting accuracy, and casting response. • S3D (Shimano Stable Spool Design) aluminum spool. A new spool construction that reduces vibrations when casting, thus improving the fishing response even further. • SVS Infinity drag offers improved spool compatibility compared to previous models. SVS Infinity casting brake system consists of four brake pads powered by the centrifugal force. The brake pads can be adjusted via the side plate equipped with a quick-release mechanism or the precision adjustment switch located on the outside of the reel. Each pad can be engaged or disengaged separately. This drag system offers an extremely wide range of adjustment. • S-ARB bearings are made from stainless steel. The surface of an A-RB bearing is harder than that of regular bearings, which allows for lower rolling resistance. This bearing type is also significantly more resilient against corrosion than steel bearings. S type bearings are also sealed to prevent dirt from getting in. • Super Free System (SF) was designed to reduce spool friction when casting. In the SF system, the pinion gear is supported by a ball bearing, which reduces the friction on casting and also ensures that the pinion gear and spool axle are perfectly aligned with each other. • Silent Tune technology reduces vibration on the reel during retrieve. • Suitable for saltwater use as well.
