Satellite messaging beyond mobile network coverage inReach Messenger uses the global Iridium satellite network for communication when mobile coverage is unavailable. Together with the Garmin Messenger app, messages can be sent over a mobile or satellite network depending on the available connection, and the app also supports group messaging. The device's own display lets you confirm that messages have been sent and read replies without using your phone. SOS, location sharing and TracBack provide extra reassurance Garmin inReach Messenger Satellite Communicator allows you to send an interactive SOS alert to the Garmin Response coordination centre, which is staffed around the clock. You can share your location with family and friends through MapShare or using GPS coordinates included in messages, while the TracBack function helps you navigate back along the same route to your starting point.
