For pike and other larger fish, the line thickness can go up to 0.40 mm. Compared to monofilament lines, the benefits of braided lines include their non-stretching quality, which improves the feel even further. If you are using a braided line for ice fishing, make sure that the line does not absorb water and thus does not freeze in sub-zero conditions.
